You are never too young or too old to learn how to sing or play guitar. Don't be intimidated by all the young talented singers or the ones who started learning since they were five years old. If you put your mind to it, you can sing but it does take a lot of time and dedication. Just be careful when choosing your teacher. Be sure to interview them so you know what a typical lesson would be like and so you know what you're paying for. If you are too shy to get singing lessons, you can just pick up an audio book on singing. They come with audio CD's to hear the vocal warm-ups and exercises. Some people actually learn better this way because you learn at your own pace and it could give you a boost of confidence for when you take lessons with a real teacher because eventually you will probably need actual lessons. Audio books also help you to have some knowledge on singing before you take lessons, so you won't go in completely clueless. The only bad thing is that your book won't remind you that its time to practice.

You can just take singing lessons and learn basic guitar chords and with that alone you can play thousands of songs already. Once you gain more confidence and get the hand with guitar you can take lessons to play better. I know lot of guitarists that learn on their own just with tips and imitating live musician techniques. You shouldn't try to pull this off with singing because you could develop bad habits and could damage your voice. The safest way to go is singing lessons first then guitar lessons.

Three days grace never too late guitar lesson?

I checked on youtube but there wasn't any lessons, try getting tab and watching videos of the song being played

I have heard that guitar lessons are not necessary to learn how to play guitar well. Is that true?

It all depends on how bad you want to learn. I learned to play chords from a book. I've been playing since the 70s.

A live teacher will increase your progress so much because they can respond to your questions, correct your technique and change the direction of your lesson to fit what you need.

How much should I charge for hour guitar lessons?

Depending on your location, that sounds about right. If you're in metropolitan New England or California, it's too low. Once you have your degree, and especially if you go on with guitar performance or specialize in guitar pedagogy, you will probably want to raise it. Until you have more credentials and a studio reputation, I'd leave it as is.
